STX Europe is an international shipbuilding group which aims to be the leading builder of cruise and offshore vessels. The group has a strong position in terms of developing state-of-the-art concepts, technology, processes and products for customers around the world. STX Europe AS comprises 6 shipyards in Finland, France and Norway in addition to 9 shipyards belonging to STX OSV Holdings Limited. STX Europe has circa 16,000 employees.
Galigeo after a 5-day proof of concept project, convinced STX to implement WEBIGEO to automate the daily generation of the ship’s quality map-like view. As mentioned M. Martins, in charge of Quality Applications, “the color-coded compliance rate which is mapped onto the vessel’s evolving silhouette, helps users to make decisions faster and more easily”. The so generated reports help focus quality controls actions and naturally increase managers’ fault correction reactivity. Management, R&D teams, engineering and quality controllers are fully and continuously aligned on the augmentation of quality performance.

Galigeo is part of the contract win with Total’s Gaz and Alternatives Energies to deploy a next generation Business Intelligence system. In order to facilitate the analysis of the company’s internal and external business indicators, Total’s Gaz and Alternative Energies has launched a project to share market data on a common Data Management Service (DAMAS) platform. This project aims at equipping its decision-makers with a platform of services including geographic maps with WEBIGEO, documentary resources and other indicators allowing for more complex business analysis for the company.
"This is a next generation solution, which is ergonomic and easy to use. The solution provides a genuine common and cross-functional source of information that will enable employees of Total’s Gaz et Energies Nouvelles to concentrate their efforts more on exploiting data and less on acquiring it. This project will enhance group efficiency and will help decision-makers save time and respond to the issues effectively in light of increasing volumes of data and redundant information" explains Frédéric Brajon, Manager at Logica Management Consulting, and Director of the project.
