If you look closely, all these topics share a common foundation: data from the store network. And to be able to address these legitimate use cases efficiently, this data must first be clean and well-managed.

Yet this crucial step of mastering foundational data is too often neglected, resulting in an inability to properly address the downstream use cases. This is compounded by the fact that, in many organizations, no team member is clearly designated to take ownership of data and its quality.

What does having clean and well-managed data actually mean?

  • All points of sale are correctly positioned in space (in technical terms, this is called geocoding your points of sale)

  • You can easily reposition a point of sale manually if needed

  • No point of sale is missing

  • New points of sale can be easily added

  • Each point of sale has properties consistent with the others: floor area, typology, contract type, etc. This description can of course vary depending on the type of network

On top of this comes the ability to keep the network up to date with openings, closures, transfers, and more — all while ensuring that every stakeholder is working from the same version of the store network reference data.

And if we extrapolate, the same reasoning can be applied to all types of networks: competitor networks, partner networks, distributor networks, and so on.

The Galigeo Network module was created for this very purpose: to provide everyone involved in managing their network with a single network repository, powered by a precise data model, enabling each user to work from the same comprehensive and relevant information.

This module then feeds into the other Galigeo business modules, addressing all the use cases faced by retailers, manufacturers, and network managers more broadly: network coverage, performance analysis, site selection simulation, revenue forecasting, and more.
